Job Description
Medical Receptionist Preferred Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery 106 Prospect Street, Ridgewood, NJ 07450 We are in search of a motivated and highly competent Medical Receptionist for a busy and growing orthopedic pediatric surgery practice in Ridgewood, NJ.
Job duties include:
Welcome and receive patients/visitors to the office by greeting them, checking them in, and attending to their inquiries Collect patient demographics/Collect payments Oversee and maintain the patient waiting room area: ensure area is organized & clean Represents practice by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors; screening unscheduled patients and visitors; arranging referrals to other health care providers; scheduling appointments for consultations, x-rays, lab tests, physical therapy, MRI’s, CT scans, etc. Prepare and traffic invoices, reports, and memos Handle mail and faxes Ensures physician productivity by maintaining calendars; scheduling patient appointments; physician consultations; professional meetings, conferences; teleconferences, and travel. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains office supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Keeps office equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. Enhances physician office reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements:
Prior experience in medical practice Previous experience working with an Electronic Health Record system Ability to prioritize and multitask Excellent telephone etiquette and written and verbal communication skills Exhibit punctuality Proficient in both Microsoft Word and Excel Strong organizational skills Excellent interpersonal skills Time Management Customer Service Reporting Skills Ability to stay late a few days a week
