Community Habilitation Specialist Advanced Proactive Solutions LLC 10 Chateau Drive, Manorville, NY 11949 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Habilitation Specialist to join our team. Duties Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including homes and community environments. Assist clients in developing daily living skills such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management. Implement individualized behavior management plans to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create a supportive environment that fosters growth and independence. Document client progress and maintain accurate records of services provided. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to caregiving and behavioral health. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred. Familiarity with behavioral health practices and strategies for working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Experience in childcare or working with people with disabilities can be beneficial. Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal; proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus.
