The Nuclear Medicine Technologist I assists physiciansin the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures bypreparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipmentin order to obtain diagnostic scans. Qualifications:
  • Education:

    2 Year / AssociateDegree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved or NMTCB-recognizedNuclear Medicine Program, required.

  • Experience:

    Minimum of oneyear of experience in nuclear medicine, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Certified and registered in NuclearMedicine by ARRT or NMTCB
  • RT(N) or CNMT, required.
  • IVCredentialed, required.
  • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy

  • Applicable state license, required.
  • Additional Skills (required):

Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specificskills validation and competency testing; good communicationskills; capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms; workingknowledge of various types of nuclear medicine equipment, able toadapt to new and various situations and procedures according to ageof patient served; has ability to interpret information to identifyeach patient’s requirements for care relative to his / herage-specific needs.
