Required Qualifications:
  • One year’s experience as a Nuclear Medicine Tech
  • Current NuclearMedicine Technologist/ Radiography license in compliance with stateregulations
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
PreferredQualifications:
  • Current ARRT or Certified Nuclear MedicineTechnologist (CNMT)
  • Other certifications and licenses may berequired for this position
Summary:

The Nuclear MedicineTechnologist is a highly specialized health care professionalresponsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals todiagnose and treat various medical conditions. They operateadvanced imaging equipment, monitor patient safety, and ensurecompliance with radiation safety standards while collaborating withhealthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnosticresults.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Educate patients about nuclearmedicine procedures, and address questions if they arise
  • Maintains and inspects nuclear medicine equipment, for properfunctioning, reporting any malfunctions and ensuring compliancewith radiation safety standards
  • Prepare and administerradiopharmaceuticals and other medications to patients according toestablished protocols and safety standards
  • Monitor patients foradverse reactions to radioactive drugs or other administeredmedications, intervening as necessary to ensure their safety
  • Operates medical imaging equipment to create images of organs orareas of the body according to physician orders
  • Documentprocedure details in patient records to ensure continuity of careand compliance with regulations
  • Follows hospital safety rules andpolicies and radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure toradioactive materials
  • Performs other duties as assigned withinthe scope of Nuclear Medicine Technologist practice
RequiredEssential Skills:
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and goodinterpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, &communicate in the English language is required
  • Ability toread/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions,and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities
  • Remain in astationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs),pushing, pulling, bending
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • To workeffectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills
  • Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment.

  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the generalpublic, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must beable to work under close supervision occasionally as well asworking without assistance from other personnel. Must be able tocontend with irregular activity schedules occasionally andcontinuous concentration to detail
