Job Description
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – (PMHNP/DNP) 2.3 2.3 out of 5 stars North Smithfield, RI 02896 • Hybrid work We are hiring both full-time and part-time. Compensation is negotiable and depends on your level of experience and credentials. Psychiatric Practitioners assess the mental health needs of patients under their care. They work with patients to determine a diagnosis, develop a plan of care, and educate both patients and families on behaviors related to mental disorders. This includes Interviewing patients about symptoms and complaints, and determining whether a psychiatric disorder has a physiological or emotional basis. Assessment of risk factors for mental illness and broader wellness evaluations are part of the job as well. Psychiatric Practitioners will be responsible for providing medication management to a diverse population of adults. Supervision will be given by the physician as required. Psychiatric practitioners monitor patient medication use and document treatment results. For patients experiencing a mental crisis, psychiatric practitioners may intervene with therapy or medication.
