• Eighteen months of recent experience in anAcute Care Perioperative Nursing practice as both a scrub andcirculating nurse
• Active RN License
• Degree from an accreditednursing program
• Successful completion of an RNFA program thatmeets AORN recommended education standards for RN First Assistantprograms

• BLS, ACLS, CNOR

• Unlimited Referral Bonuses up to$1,000 Duties Responsibilities First Assistant Nurses offer theskills needed to provide surgical preoperative patient caremanagement, intraoperative surgical first assisting andpostoperative patient care management
• Assist surgeon byperforming technical functions during surgery, includingintra-operative retraction, homeostasis, tissue manipulation, andwound closure.
• Provide direct patient care as part of theperioperative role, by acting as first assistant to the surgeonduring operative procedures.
• The First assisting nurse / RNFAwill perform first assisting under the direct supervision of theprimary surgeon.
• The RNFA will immediately communicate anypatient care issues verbally to the surgeon.
