The School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications and nominations for a full-time faculty position to operate as the Chief Professional Development and Faculty Affairs Officer of the School. This position is responsible for leading faculty and staff professional development and performance management in support of the tri-partite mission. The position is accountable to the Dean and will have primary responsibility for developing, leading, and evaluating an innovative and comprehensive faculty and staff development enterprise. This position will be at the rank of Professor with Tenure. Salary is competitive and commensurate with professional background and experience. This is not a remote position. The UAB School of Nursing’s legacy of leadership is focused on the integration of research, education, and clinical practice and evidenced in more than 22,000 alumni serving as expert clinicians, executive nurse leaders, deans and directors of nursing programs, nurse scientists, advanced practice registered nurses, and other professional leaders. The School is ranked in the top nursing schools nationwide by U.S. News and World Report and offers innovative baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate, master’s, post-master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral programs. a doctorate in nursing, PhD preferred demonstrated successful academic leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years of direct supervision of faculty/staff personnel preferably as a department chair or higher successful leadership, strategic planning and budgetary experience in an academic setting experience as a recognized educator, mentor, and scholar demonstrated success in management and development of faculty and staff through developmental and disciplinary processes active engagement in professional service at the national/international level. an unencumbered RN license in the state of AL or eligibility for for licensure as an RN in AL.
