Job Description

Job Description Summary The Nurse Manager is the operational leader responsible for the daily operations of the assigned nursing unit. In conjunction with the Director, the Nurse Manager shares fiscal and operational responsibility, including staffing and daily unit operations. The Nurse Manager, in conjunction with the Director, is also responsible and accountable for family centered care, patient outcomes/quality initiatives, and patient satisfaction and serves as a leader and role model for nursing as well as Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Job Description Qualifications:

Current RN license in the state of Alabama 2 years relevant clinical experience in a supervisory/charge nurse role Demonstrated clinical competence at the mastery level applicable to the assigned unit Certification in specialty area OR completion of certification as soon as candidate meets all eligibility requirements as stipulated by the certifying board Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (preferred) OR Documentation of acceptance/enrollment in a BSN program with successful completion of the degree within 3 years of date of hire. (required)

Skills:

Successful completion of: Basic Cardiac Life Support Institutional Intermediate EKG Course Advanced Life Support relative to area of specialty (e.g., Neonatal Resuscitation, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of various education levels via written and verbal formats Computer proficiency including e-mail, intranet, and Microsoft Office products Shift Day Shift Details 8:00 am – 4:30 pm FTE 1 Type Regular Join one of Forbes 500 best mid-sized employers in America.
