RN Charge Nurse, Night Shift 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 3105 Bluff Creek Drive, Columbia, MO 65201 RN Charge Nurse 12 hour shifts. 6:00 pm to 6:30 am Eligible for full-time benefits first of the month following hire date.

Come and see why “It’s Just Different Here!” The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for performing a variety of duties to provide quality nursing care to residents; coordinate care for residents; participate in establishing specific goals; ensure compliance with all operating policies and procedures and federal and state regulations; communicate with and supervise staff; provide daily reports and other reports as required; and perform all the duties of a certified medicine technician, when required. Essential Functions Perform various duties to provide quality nursing care to residents. Help residents maintain or attain the highest practical level of functioning. Coordinate nursing care for residents illustrated by the following: Assess residents and analyze obtained information to develop appropriate measures to prevent decline; behavioral changes; record signs of change in condition; notify appropriate staff per The Bluffs protocol to evaluate weight loss; decline in ambulation, development of skin break down; notify appropriate staff for possible need of restorative programs; inform attending physician or Medical Director of changes when appropriate. Respond to emergencies and resident change-in-condition; assess the condition of residents and decide on type of medical attention required; call appropriate ambulance service if needed; notify families when resident is transferring to or being admitted to hospital; notify the physician and appropriate care team members when a change-in-condition occurs. Administer medications and treatments to residents; place orders for medication, treatment and equipment with the pharmacy. Maintain resident electronic health records; record changes and keep documentation updated. Audit charts as assigned. Update care plans. Immediately contact appropriate leadership when residents report abuse or neglect. Complete employee incident forms. Make rounds to residents daily and as needed. Supervisory Responsibility This position supervises nursing assistants, certified nursing assistants and certified medicine technicians. Work Environment This position operates in a nursing home environment. This position is routinely exposed to common health care conditions, noises, chemicals etc. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) in a healthcare environment which is open 24 hours a day 365 days per year. Holidays and work during inclement weather will be required.

RN Required Education and Experience • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Registered Nurse with current state licensure. Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days. Preferred Education and Experience 1. Long-term care experience.
