The Clinical Supervisor isresponsible for ensuring patient care is supported by competentstaff in an ambulatory setting. The Clinical Supervisor ensuresstaffing support for physicians and APC’s is prepared monthly andupdated daily. In partnership and collaboration with the ClinicalManager the Clinical Supervisor ensures patient safety standardsare upheld and workflows are enforced. The Clinical Supervisor isexpected to demonstrate leadership skills within Crystal RunHealthcare, and in the community.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manages payroll and approves time off.

Notifies the Clinical Nurse Manager when an employee demonstrates apattern of poor attendance

  • Ensures PTO is approved equitably andtime off meets the needs of both the clinical staff and thepractice
  • Ensures monthly clinical staff schedules are completeand distributed in a timely manner
  • Ensures daily staffassignments are appropriate based on employee skill level andavailable skill mix
  • Meets with staff that float and verifies thatthey are oriented to the department and able to perform roomingguidelines
  • Conducts building rounds throughout the day; monitorsclinical workflow, ensures patient safety standards are upheld andaddressing problems that arise
  • Participates inbuilding/department rounds with the Infection Control managerand/or the Practice Health and Safety team
  • Communicates dailywith the Nurse Manager to share information acquired during dailyhuddles and staff/provider rounds
  • Ensures huddles focused onpatient safety and practice performance improvements are conductedin all building departments
  • Observes staff to ensure assessmentand data gathering practices are timely, reliable, valid andcomprehensive according to practice standards
  • Model behaviorsthat inspire and engage nurses and others to perform optimally,focused on the mission and values of Crystal Run Healthcare
  • Checks log sheets weekly to ensure they are completed per policyaccurately and timely
  • Monitors medication and clinical supplyinventory. Collaborates with pharmacy and materials management onpar levels
  • Ensures clinical staff have completed initial andongoing competency and continuing education. Arranges in-serviceeducation as needed
  • Participates in practice health and safetyassessments.

Ensures all departments are assessment ready.

Collaborates with educators, team leaders and other members of theclinical team on areas that require remediation

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of anaccredited School of Nursing
  • Current NYS Nursing License (RN/LPN
  • 3 years of LPN experience
  • 1 years of leadership experience

  • May occasionally be required to assist with liftingpeople
