Optometric Technician Eyes On Guntersville 390 Gunter Ave, Guntersville, AL 35976

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and contribute to improving patients’ vision health.

Duties:
  • Perform preliminary testing on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and eye muscle movements
  • Prepare patients for examinations by the optometrist
  • Assist with contact lens fittings and instructions
  • Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and contact lens usage
  • Maintain accurate patient records and input data into electronic health records system
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage
Skills:
  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and operations
  • Strong sales and customer service skills
  • Understanding of ocular anatomy and physiology
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to optometry
  • Experience in optical dispensing is a plus
  • Proficiency in medical billing practices
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy protection
  • Ability to maintain aseptic technique in clinical settings
