Optometric tech Drake Eye Center 697 Highway 31 NW, Hartselle, AL 35640 Job Overview We are seeking an Optometric Technician to join our team and assist in providing excellent eye care services to our patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a strong interest in the field of optometry. Responsibilities Conduct preliminary tests on patients such as visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and eye muscle movements Assist optometrists with eye examinations and contact lens fittings Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and contact lens usage Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories Manage inventory of ophthalmic materials and supplies Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information Requirements Knowledge of ophthalmology, medical terminology, and anatomy Experience working in a medical office or clinic setting Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy Strong communication skills and ability to provide exceptional patient care Ability to work effectively in a team environment Previous experience in optical or front desk duties is a plus
