EMT Morgans Healthcare Madison, AL 35756 This posting is for an on-site EMT at an automobile manufacturing facility. Medics work in two-man teams responding to medical emergencies within the facility. Job Summary The EMT-Basic plays a critical role in emergency medical services, providing essential pre-hospital care to patients in various situations. This position involves responding to emergency calls, assessing patients’ conditions, and delivering appropriate medical interventions. EMT-Basics work closely with other healthcare professionals in high-pressure environments, including hospitals and trauma centers, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during transport and treatment. Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess the situation upon arrival. Perform patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses. Administer basic life support (BLS) techniques, including CPR, oxygen therapy, and wound care. Conduct venipuncture for blood draws as required for patient evaluation. Collaborate with hospital staff in emergency rooms (ER) and trauma centers to facilitate patient care. Document all patient interactions, treatments provided, and outcomes accurately. Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for emergency response situations. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with emergency medicine practices. Qualifications Certification as an EMT-Basic from an accredited program is required. Experience working in a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) setting is a plus. Familiarity with critical care protocols and procedures is advantageous. Knowledge of physical examinations and patient assessment techniques is essential. Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments such as Level I or Level II Trauma Centers.
