Job Summary We are seeking a full-time Medical Courier to primarily handle specimen pick-ups and deliveries throughout Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, while providing phlebotomy services as needed at various patient locations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys variety in their work and excels in both patient interaction and logistics. Throughout the week, staff members in this role can work in various settings, such as patient service centers, nursing homes, and clinics.

Pay and Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine specimen pick-ups and deliveries according to established standards, ensuring specimen integrity and timely transport to the laboratory Call clients ahead to confirm pickup needs and coordinate with operations team Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients of all age ranges Appropriately label samples for routine testing and analysis Accurately enter patient data, order choices, and specimen details into the system Maintain courier vehicle in good working condition; report any issues promptly Package specimens for transport Demonstrate exceptional customer service to patients and clients

Required Qualifications:

Venipuncture experience with all age ranges Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Effective communication and customer service skills Proficient in email communication and basic computer functions Licensure – National phlebotomy certification required; Louisiana state phlebotomy certification preferred but not mandatory All candidates must pass a background check in compliance with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) guidelines, particularly for positions in nursing homes or other monitored healthcare facilities High school diploma;

GED Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience

Customer Service:

2 years of experience

License/Certification:

Nationally Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Required) Valid Driver’s License (Required)
