Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Digital Pathology Lead Coordinator. In this role, the successful candidate The Lead Digital Pathology Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the operations of whole slide imaging systems and software platforms, performing high-quality scans, associated quality assessments, and maintaining equipment in the absence of the Digital Pathology operations Manager. The Lead Digital Pathology Coordinator will work closely with the Digital Pathology Coordinators and pathologists to ensure that the digital imaging and analysis of specimens meets the required standards for accurate diagnosis.

Job Responsibilities:

Works in conjunction with site Managers and Digital Pathology Quality Manager to oversee digital pathology workflow. Operates and maintains whole slide imaging systems and software platforms. Prepares and scans slides for digital analysis. Performs quality control assessments and quality assurance of digital pathology images. Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards. Collaborates with pathology laboratory, IT, and other team members to optimize workflows. Performs any data entry associated with digital pathology systems and manages data sets as needed. Troubleshoots technical issues and communicates with technical support teams. Maintains equipment and performs regular maintenance checks to ensure equipment is properly functioning. Manages digital slide inventory. Maintains supply inventory. Compiles and prepares reports and presentations at the direction of management. Works under direction of Operations manager works on OSR related projects. Supports digital pathology coordinators in scanner troubleshoot and problem resolution. Supports workflow procedures and supports team established by operational manager. Understands when to escalate and report issues to manager or MCIT and open tickets. Perform all tasks and functions as digital pathology coordinator. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in the major of biology, chemistry or other sciences from an accredited college or university, minimum of 6 months of full-time professional experience working with Philips IMS, Excellent computer, Microsoft Office (Excel) and project presentation skills. Working knowledge of improvement methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in management and/or prior experience working in an anatomic pathology laboratory setting is preferred. NYSDOH Licensed. Master’s Degree, CPHQ/CPPS, Lean, Six Sigma certification. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 – $93,307.59 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
