Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing the VA Mountain Home Health Care System with a experienced Neurologist. The Neurology (Physician) is responsible for a wide range of duties to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality care. This includes, but is not limited to initial evaluation, documentation, diagnosis, evaluation, ordering appropriate diagnostic studies and treatments to patients referred from other sections of the hospital and/or affiliated VA outpatient clinics, and perform administrative functions and other tasks as assigned.
Additional Roles/Responsibilities :
The Neurologist will provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the outpatient Neurology Clinic as well as provide feedback and consultation to the Neurology Nurse Practitioner. In this role, the incumbent will also provide feedback and patient education to the patients and their families and will demonstrate excellence in all facets of patient care and meets or exceeds compliance standards. Additional roles of the Neurology include providing consultation services for other hospitalized patients, after hours care- as directed by the Associate Chief of Acute Medicine. The Physician is responsible for outpatient, inpatient medical ward, and Intensive Care Unit patients. The incumbent will also frequently be involved in clinical leadership duties. Examples include participation in and leadership of hospital committees, patient safety efforts, quality and performance improvement, inpatient flow initiatives and peer review. The incumbent may also have additional skills (e.g., exercise stress testing) or have sub-specialty certification which may be utilized within the medical service. The incumbent will provide comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of Neurology. The incumbent is expected to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and treatment of disease. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. The incumbent is expected to adhere to stated policies and provide timely documentation of clinical notes (e.g., H&P, consult review, discharge summaries, medication reconciliation, etc.). In addition, the incumbent is expected to coordinate and communicate the treatment plan with hospitalists, primary care providers, nursing, social workers, clerical staff, pharmacy and other subspecialists and ancillary staff. The candidate will help to ensure that high quality patient care is delivered in a resourceful and efficient manner. Requirements Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency Training:
Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Salary Description $3250,000 – $365,000
