SALARY ADJUSTMENTS

The psychologist functions as an integral member of the clinical team and plays a key role in the selection, recruitment, and supervision of doctoral psychology interns and master’s level practicum students. The candidate should have experience treating both adults and children who present with a range of diagnoses in an outpatient setting and be well-versed in evidence-based treatment models and comfortable supervising interns/practicum students on cases using an integrative approach to psychotherapy. The psychologist should embrace an inclusive, culturally sensitive approach to clinical psychology when formulating diagnoses, treatment plans/interventions and recommendations. The psychologist works collaboratively with other clinical staff and with academic program faculty advisors on training related manners and helps to ensure that services and practices meet the highest ethical and legal standards.

Essential qualities for this position included strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills. The Faulk Center for Counseling is a non-profit agency that provides free and low-cost counseling to ethnically and socio-economically diverse children through seniors at our beautiful facility and at outreach locations. The Center trains over 25 graduate students each year in the fields of mental health counseling, social work and psychology. In addition, the Faulk Center is an APA-approved doctoral psychology internship training site and attracts interns from across the nation. Position Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Supervises, directs, and evaluates the work of doctoral psychology interns and master’s level trainees on all aspects of their clinical work including therapy cases and intake evaluations. 2. Selects and supervises appropriate therapeutic interventions based upon clinical knowledge and educational background (to include individual, couple, family, and group therapy). 8. Provides timely and effective performance feedback and evaluations of supervisees. 9. Develops and monitors disciplinary plans as needed. Meets regularly with the Clinical and Training Director and other members of the clinical team to ensure provision of quality and mental health care. 10. Participates in staff, volunteer, and /or student meetings to foster communicate and promote initiatives. 11. Engages in continuing education necessary to improve the quality and breadth of the Faulk Center for Counseling services and to maintain an active Florida social work license. 12. Supports the mission and direction of the Faulk Center for Counseling by aligning activities with the Faulk Center for Counseling goals and objectives (including marketing, outreach, and grant reporting), and professional presentations. 13. Provides supervision of clinical crises.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

1. Supervises the work of all doctoral psychology interns and doctoral and master’s practicum students.

Other Relevant Aspects of Position:

1. 25 hour work week. Hours can be flexible.

The salary posted above is based on full-time employment. Pay will be based on a portion of the full-time salary.

Education and Experience:
Required:

1. Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology 2. Active, unrestricted licensed Florida Psychologist 3. Four or more years of direct clinical therapy practice at the post-graduate level. 4. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills. Well-versed in a variety of therapy orientations and an ability to adapt treatment protocol depending on multiple factors (e.g., client’s presentation and diagnosis, supervisee’s orientation, cultural and familial factors, etc.) 5. Prior clinical experience with both children and adults who present with a range of clinical diagnoses.

Preferred:

1. Two or more years director supervision of practicum students

Essential Job Requirements of Position:

1. Must pass background screening

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

1. Must be organized, independent, motivated, and self-directed. 2. Computer literate in Microsoft Office, electronic health record software, Google Suite, ZOOM® and in the use of all office equipment (i.e., multi-line phone system, fax, copier, postage machine). 3. Must demonstrate effective client relationship skills in both intake and feedback processes and maintain client confidentiality. 4. Knowledge of and ability to comply with all procedures and guidelines governed by

HIPAA. 5.

Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions. 6. Strong leadership and management skills. 7. Great communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with clinical staff and patients. 8. Problem solving skills when resolving clinical issues and conflicts. 9. Detailed knowledge of policies and regulations in the clinical field.

Working Conditions:

1. Walks and stands 20% of the time and sits the other 80% of the time 2. Prolonged periods of working on a computer 3. Works in Faulk Center for Counseling office. Some hours may be completed from home office.
