Clinical Duties:
Is responsible for the center operations when the Director is unavailable. Provides excellent customer services to all patients, visitors, employees, and physicians Participates in Organizational Performance Improvement activities when assigned Ensures confidentiality of all patient, employee, and appropriate health information Adheres to all infection control practices Assesses the patient’s needs, problems, and physical appearance following department safety, policy and procedure guidelines Completes all patient chart documentation and information such as Polaroids, consent, patient weight, etc. Maintains treatment room cleanliness and safety Create and manage simulation and verification images Always verifies patient ID, dosage, etc Prepare the patient equipment for the delivery of the radiation Plan and deliver the treatment as directed and prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist Keep accurate records of the treatment of each patient Observe radiation safety and protection procedures Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others Collaborates with radiation oncologists, medical physicists and medical dosimetrists to compensate for treatment inaccuracies; and reports deviations from the standard or planned treatment Coordinate chemo/radiation treatments with Medical Oncology.
General Job functions:
Oversee staff and patient scheduling to ensure adequate (national standard) therapist assignment to machines and optimizing patient preferences in scheduling. Work with the Clinical Director, Medical Director, director of physics and summit health administration to develop and carry out patient care initiatives and/or the integration of new technologies Assists Clinical Director with conduct and documentation of annual review of all RTTs. Participate actively in both the quality assurance required by law and/or accreditation institutions, and in clinical quality improvement initiatives. Closely collaborate with Clinical Director to ensure all RTT staff maintain education requirements. Assist Clinical Director to ensure all RTT staff maintain education requirements; proper orientation is completed by new employees, and annual competencies are completed, as necessary. Work with Clinical Director to schedule and oversee that all staff obtain proper training on equipment. Work with Clinical Director to ensure automated billing system is optimized and assist in audits. Work with Clinical Director and Medical Director to ensure all requirement documentation forms are updated in EHR as needed, functional, and intuitive for staff . Partner with Clinical Director and Medical Director in all aspects of accreditation (ACR, ACRO or APHex) Physical Job Requirements. Pushing and pulling, taking frequency and weight into consideration. Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items, taking frequency and weight into consideration. Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account. Physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place. Dexterity of hands and fingers. Balance is maintained during climbing, bending and/or reaching Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking). Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field required with two years managerial experience preferred. Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in Radiation Therapy or equivalent Maintain certification and registration in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Travel Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed
Pay Range:
$43.61 – $54.52 Hourly The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
