Serves as a clinical mentor forjunior staff and students.

- High school diploma or equivalent. Work ExperienceRequired
- 6 months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience.
Preferred
- Clinical MRI experience. Certifications Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
ARRTregistered or unlimited state license OR Certification in anotherclinical imaging field (such as ARDMS or NMTCB) with associatedegree or bachelor degree in allied health field
OR ARRT, ARMRIT ORCAMRT
registered as an MR technologist with no experience. Advancedcertification in MRI required by an organization recognized by theACR Registry required within two years of employment. Preferred
- Advanced certification in MRI required by an organizationrecognized by the ACR Registry. Knowledge Skills and Abilities(KSAs)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-basedapplications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skillsand ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of MRI procedures andtechnical language.
- Ability to work with and maintain strictconfidentiality, work efficiently and calmly under pressure, and bself-directed and function without direct supervision.
- Ability towork flexible schedule (such as nights, evenings, weekends,holidays, extended shifts, etc.) and travel throughout and betweenfacilities.
- General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Dopplerphysics, and the hemodynamics of blood flow in relation to thevarious disease states.
- Ability to preliminary identify stenosisor occlusion based on nationally published criteria.
- Ability toassist attending physicians with interventional proceduresrequiring ultrasonic guidance.
- Ability to provide care and/orsupport services in a manner consistent with the patient’s age,social, spiritual, and cultural needs and other specialconsideration. Job Duties
- Verifies physician order and procedureto ensure accuracy.
- Uses radiology information systems tofacilitate care.
- Explains procedure to patient to ensureunderstanding.
- Independently operates equipment to completeimaging procedure according to protocol (including placement ofIV).
- Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensureimages meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Completes timelyquality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standardsand performing notification/remediation as warranted.
- Assists inthe facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staffschedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
- Adapts behavior to thespecific patient population, including but not limited to respectfor privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adaptingexplanation of services or procedures to be performed, requestingpermissions and communication style.
- Performs other relatedduties as required.

Dutiesperformed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid andtissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in anarea where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/orworks with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicablediseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting,there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardousmedications or hazardous waste within the environment throughreceipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing,administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
