In collaborationwith interventional radiologists and nursing, this job, safelyprepares for, and scrubs into interventional procedures. This jobhas advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiographyand provides care in accordance with prescribed radiation safetyprocedures and protocols. • Completion of aRadiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school WorkExperience Required
• None Preferred
• 2 year experience inInterventional Radiology Certifications Required
• Registered bythe American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Licensed bythe Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners(LSRTBE) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from theAmerican Heart Association Preferred
• Advanced certification inVascular Interventional Radiology Knowledge Skills and Abilities(KSAs)
• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for dataentry and retrieval of information.
• Effective verbal and writtencommunication skills and the ability to present information clearlyand professionally.
• Must be proficient with Windows-styleapplications, various software packages specific to role andkeyboard.
• Strong interpersonal skills. Job Duties
• Verifiesphysician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Utilizesradiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explainsprocedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independentlyoperates equipment to complete imaging procedure according toprotocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensureimages meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Completes timelyquality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standardsand performing notification/remediation as warranted.
• Assists inthe facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staffschedules, equipment, maintenance, etc.).
• Adapts behavior to thespecific patient population, including but not limited to: respectfor privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adaptingexplanation of services or procedures to be performed, requestingpermissions and communication style.
• Other related duties asrequired.
