In collaborationwith interventional radiologists and nursing, this job, safelyprepares for, and scrubs into interventional procedures. This jobhas advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiographyand provides care in accordance with prescribed radiation safetyprocedures and protocols. - Completion of a Radiologic Technology program in an AMA approvedschool Work Experience Required
- None Preferred
- 2 yearexperience in Interventional Radiology Certifications Required
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist(ARRT) Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Boardof Examiners (LSRTBE) Current Basic Life Support (BLS)certification from the American Heart Association Preferred
- Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional RadiologyKnowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Must have computer skillsand dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the abilityto present information clearly and professionally.
- Must beproficient with Windows-style applications, various softwarepackages specific to role and keyboard.
- Strong interpersonalskills. Job Duties
- Verifies physician order and procedure toassure accuracy.
- Utilizes radiology information systems tofacilitate care.
- Explains procedure to patient to ensureunderstanding.
- Independently operates equipment to completeimaging procedure according to protocol.
- Reviews patient imagesprior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic qualitystandards.
- Completes timely quality control procedures inaccordance with regulatory standards and performingnotification/remediation as warranted.
- Assists in thefacilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staffschedules, equipment, maintenance, etc.).
- Adapts behavior to thespecific patient population, including but not limited to: respectfor privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adaptingexplanation of services or procedures to be performed, requestingpermissions and communication style.
