- Completion of anapproved Radiologic Technology program Work Experience Preferred
- Radiologic technology experience Certifications Required
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist(ARRT) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)registry eligible, registered by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of employment, andtemporary state license required Current unrestricted license inthe state of practice Current Basic Life Support (BLS)certification from the American Heart Association Knowledge Skillsand Abilities (KSAs)•Must have computer skills and dexterityrequired for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Effectiveverbal and written communication skills and the ability to presentinformation clearly and professionally.
- Must be proficient withWindows-style applications, various software packages specific torole and keyboard.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Job Duties
- Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy
- Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care
- Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding
- Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedureaccording to protocol (may include placement of nasogastric tubes,IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast)
- Reviewspatient images prior to transmission to ensure images meetdiagnostic quality standards.
- Completes timely quality controlprocedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performingnotification/remediation as warranted.
- Assists in thefacilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staffschedules, equipment maintenance, etc.)
- Adapts behavior to thespecific patient population, including but not limited to: respectfor privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adaptingexplanation of services or procedures to be performed, requestingpermissions and communication style.
