Job Duties:
This job is responsible forassessing patients and safely performing routine CT procedures inaccordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures andprotocols. Verifies physician order and procedure to assureaccuracy. Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitatecare. Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedureaccording to protocol (including placement of IV). Reviews patientimages prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnosticquality standards. Completes timely quality control procedures inaccordance with regulatory standards and performingnotification/remediation as warranted. Assists in the facilitationof departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipmentmaintenance, etc.). Adapts behavior to the specific patientpopulation, including but not limited to: respect for privacy,method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation ofservices or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions andcommunication style. Other related duties as required.

Education Required:
Associate’s degree in any field.
Other Requirements:
- Current license issued by the Louisiana StateRadiologic Technology Board of Examiners.
- Must be registered bythe American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), orcomputed tomography ARRT(CT) certified, or ARRT registry eligible
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology education program approvedby the ARRT.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification by AmericanHeart Association.
