This job safelyprepares for and scrubs into interventional procedures incollaboration with interventional radiologists and nursing. Holdsadvanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography andprovides care in accordance with prescribed radiation safetyprocedures and protocols. To perform this job successfully, anindividual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. - Completion of an approved radiologic technology program. WorkExperience Required
- Minimum 3 years ARRT(RT) or CNMT experiencewhich includes 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience.
Certifications Required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)certification from the American Heart Association, Registered bythe American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), unlimitedstate license (if applicable. Preferred
- Advanced certification inVascular Interventional Radiology Knowledge Skills and Abilities(KSAs)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-basedapplications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skillsand ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills. Job Duties
- Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
- Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care.
- Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
- Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedureaccording to protocol.
- Reviews patient images prior totransmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance withregulatory standards and performing notification/remediation aswarranted.
- Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations(inventory, staff schedules, equipment, maintenance, etc.).
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including butnot limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to thepatient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to beperformed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
