Activities Director The Manor at Lake Morton Lakeland, FL 33801 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This role is crucial in developing and implementing engaging programs that cater to the interests and needs of seniors, particularly those in memory care and long-term care settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, social work, or related fields, with a passion for creating meaningful experiences for individuals living with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Duties Plan, organize, and oversee a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure activities align with each resident’s care plan. Facilitate group activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement. Maintain schedule management for all activities, ensuring they are well-attended and effectively executed. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments based on resident feedback and participation levels. Provide support to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages resident participation and enhances community spirit. Experience Previous experience in home community care, nursing homes, or memory care settings is preferred. Background in social work or caregiving is highly desirable. Familiarity with dementia care practices and long-term care regulations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively. Excellent communication skills to engage with residents, families, and staff members.
