Recreation Director City of Gonzales 120 South Irma Boulevard, Gonzales, LA 70737 Overview The Recreation Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing recreational programs and activities that promote wellness, engagement, and community involvement. This role involves managing staff, coordinating events, maintaining facilities, and ensuring programs meet the needs of diverse populations Responsibilities Grant writing Administration of grant programs Management of all recreation activities for the City of Gonzales Rental agreements/invoicing for all City Fields Managment/scheduling of all Sport Tournaments Attend Recreation Committee meetings

Qualifications Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility management, community services and supervisory experience

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of staff and volunteers

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with the public, staff and community partners.

Organizational Abilities:

Strong planning, time management, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Certifications:

CPR and First Aid trained.

Knowledge:

Understanding of risk management, budgeting and program evaluation

Flexibility:

Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

$82,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
