Travel As a registerednurse•progressive care unit (RN PCU), you will help care forpatients who need a moderate level of monitoring and assessment butwhose conditions do not require the resources of the intensive careunit. In other words, it is an intermediary level of hospital care.

Telemetry units, intermediate care units, direct observation units,step-down units, or transitional care units are sometimes calledprogressive care units.
