Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities The nurse will perform routine nursingduties and assist with the other related duties involved inproviding patient care in a surgical setting. Interviews patientsto obtain appropriate health history. Maintains records andprepares oral reports. Contributes to the attainment of the goalsof the unit by using contacts with individuals and communityrelationships to contribute to the better understanding of healthservices. Prepares, administers, and records medications. Monitorsvital signs. Assembles materials and equipment in preparations forclinical sessions and maintains adequate supplies. Cleans andmaintains clinical equipment and disposes of used suppliescorrectly. Assist in recovery and discharge of patients. Performsother duties as assigned. Education and Experience Registered nursewith current state license required. BLS certification required.

ACLS certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 monthsof employment. At least two of years of experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities Ability to observe the general physicalcondition of patient to detect signs of abnormalities. Ability torecord operations completely, accurately, legibly and concisely.

Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.

Ability to exercise tact, initiative and good judgment. Ability tomultitask and prioritize work. Experience with intravenousmedications.
