This is madepossible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in theNortheast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation(CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation trainingcenters in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advancedcare, expertise and new treatment options their patients require,they turn to us. This posting is on Bliss 11 ICU, t he MedicalIntensive Care Unit is a 16-bed unit that provides care to patientswith a wide range of complex, highly acute medical issues. Theseissues include but are not limited to; respiratory failure,gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidneyinjury/failure, sepsis, and drug and alcohol withdrawal. Under thesupervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit is staffed24 hours-a-day with a team of Physician Assistants, AdvancedPractice Registered Nurses, and medical house staff physiciansconsisting of interns and residents. In the Medicine ICU, our goalis to develop our staff into well-rounded, highly skilled medicalprofessionals. The unit will push you to your limits as you will beworking in a fast-paced environment where your critical thinking,vast medical knowledge, clear communication, and your extensiveskillset will be challenged and grown. Job Summary In CriticalCare, our Registered Nurses (RNs) are highly skilled and trained;helping to provide expertise at the bedside and the highest qualitycare in the most compassionate way. The units heavily rely on ateam-based mentality in which all healthcare team members workcongruently to achieve the best outcomes based on the HartfordHealthcare values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity and Caring.

Qualifications Qualifications Current Connecticut RN License.

Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required). BLScertification by the American Heart Association required prior todate of hire. Minimum one year acute care Registered Nurseexperience strongly preferred. In exceptional circumstances,experienced RNs with an ADN/ASN who are currently in pursuit of aBSN or MSN may be considered. Graduate Nurses are encouraged toapply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program. We takegreat care of careers.
