Maine Street, Poland, ME 04274 Anticipated opening for licensed practical nurse (LPN) to serve Bruce M. Whittier Middle School in Poland, Maine (RSU 16 Poland, Mechanic Falls, and Minot) for the 2025/2026 school year. Bruce M. Whittier Middle School has approximately 280 students in seventh and eighth grade. The Health Services office is shared by Bruce Whittier Middle School and Poland Regional School students. The LPN will work collaboratively with the registered nurse from Poland Regional High School to provide care for students in both schools.
Qualifications:
Licensure by the Maine State Board of NursingLPN DegreeMinimum of 3 years of nursing experience, pediatric, public health, or school nursing preferredBackground in counseling or counseling skills desirableAn ability to collaborate effectivelyAn ability to communicate and interact with students, staff and community membersA commitment to professional growth and reflective practiceCurrent Basic Life Support certification for healthcare professionals and First AidAbility to work independently or with othersAbility to act quickly, calmly, and decisively in a crisis Must have a valid Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification through the Maine Department of Education, complete with fingerprints prior to employmentKnowledge of current practices for common childhood illnesses and chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, and seizures.
