JobSummary and Qualifications The Operating Room Registered Nurse willprovide professional surgical nursing care to patients utilizingthe nursing process, collaborating with other members of the healthcare delivery team, including physicians, to assure quality healthcare. The Operating Room Nurse assumes the responsibility forensuring effective communication with the surgical technologists,the other Registered Nurses, the surgeons, the patients and theirfamilies, as well as the other members of the surgical team. Whatyou will do in this role:

• You will provide assistance inemergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled cases
• Youwill work alongside surgical teams to ensure that patients receivethe best possible care
• You will serve as a liaison between thesurgical team and the patients’ families
• You will be responsiblefor organizing supplies needed for patients
• You will assesspatients before, during, and after surgery and maintain a sterileoperating room
• You will perform count procedures to protectpatient from unintended retained foreign objects as well as performinterventions necessary to ensure the patient’s procedure isperformed on the correct site, side, and level
• You will performinterventions throughout the surgical procedure to maintain thestatus of the patient’s genitourinary, gastrointestinal,musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, andneurological systems, and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-basebalances at or above baseline levels
• You will administermedications in accordance with physician orders
• You will activelyinvolve patient or designated support person in decisions affectingtheir post perioperative plan of care and the rehabilitationprocess What qualifications you will need:
• Must be a graduatefrom an accredited school of

Nursing:

Associate’s Degree in Nursingor higher is required

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse inthe state which you practice and/or hold an activeCompact/Multi-State RN license
• Current American Heart Association(AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health CareProvider is required
