The work involves the responsibility for providing professional social work services for the Care Management for At-Risk Children (CMARC) program with the Orange County Health Department. An employee of this class is primarily responsible for providing assessment, intervention, client education and high level comprehensive and intensive care management services to a limited caseload of eligible at-risk pregnant women and high-risk children (ages 0-5years) with complicated personal, psycho-social, medical, developmental andeconomic needs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Home Visiting Services Supervisor with some leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures in theperformance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work and making decisions about public health needs and requests. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited School of Professional Nursing AND one (1) year of professional nursing experience. Individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete the Public Health Nurse Credential course within twelve months of hire.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid, current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver License issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Possession of or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of date of hire. Bilingual is preferred with a strong preference for Spanish and English. All offers of employment are conditional upon successful clearance of a background check and pre-employment drug testing. Employment cannot commence until the employee has been cleared. May be required to possess additional certification(s) as deemed necessary by the Home Visiting Services Supervisor.
