The Psychiatric Nurse will play a crucial role in promoting mental wellness and providing urgent care when necessary. Duties Deliver comprehensive patient care, focusing on mental health needs. Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients. Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health issues. Engage in dementia care strategies to support patients with cognitive impairments. Work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met. Utilize Athenahealth software for documentation and patient management. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license required; psychiatric nursing experience preferred. Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities. Experience in urgent care or senior care settings is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Athenahealth, is advantageous.
