RequiredQualifications:
One year of recent experience as an RN in along-term care setting Valid RN license in compliance with stateregulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
PreferredQualifications:
ACLS Certification Other certifications may berequired depending on facility requirements
Summary:
A RegisteredNurse (RN) in a long-term care (LTC) facility provides skillednursing care to residents, ensuring their health, comfort, andwell-being. RNs oversee patient care plans, administer treatments,monitor for changes in condition, and collaborate with healthcareteams to provide high-quality, resident-centered care. They alsoplay a key role in supervising nursing staff, educating residentsand families, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulationsand facility policies.
Essential Work Functions:
Assess patient orresident health, monitor for changes, and take appropriate actionto ensure their well-being Develop, update, and implementpersonalized care plans in collaboration with residents, families,and the patient care team Administer medications and treatmentssafely and accurately Observe residents for any medicationreactions or changes in condition and report concerns to thehealthcare provider Provide treatments including wound care, IVtherapy, catheter management, and other skilled procedures withinscope of practice Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs delegatingappropriately and ensuring residents receive quality care Educateresidents and families on medications, treatments, and managingchronic conditions Document care provided, resident progress, andany health changes in a timely manner Respond quickly toemergencies, delivering critical care and coordinating with medicalteams when needed Work closely with physicians, therapists, andother healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensivecare Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceAdhere to facility safety protocols, infection control guidelines,and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Criticalthinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communicationskills The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills
- To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
- Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
Mental Requirements
- Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionallyas well as working without assistance from other personnel.
