Patient Registrar Opportunity at NewYork-Presbyterian Patient Registrar

  • FCC•Corporate Location Illuminate the patient experience as a Patient Registrar at NewYork-Presbyterian, where every interaction is an opportunity to make a lasting impression.

Keep families informed. Greets and registers patients in a tactful and courteous manner. Obtains all pertinent patient demographic and insurance information and enters into appropriate computer system. Pre-registers patients in the hospitals on line system. Obtains hospital medical record number when necessary. Performs insurance verification checks for Medicare, Medicaid and/or Blue Cross in the hospital billing system. Performs other insurance verification functions as required. Must have Epic experience and insurance online payor website experience. Register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments, and feel the pride of going above and beyond to help others. In this role, you’ll obtain demographic details and insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. You’ll record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients. Most importantly, you will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience.

  • 4pm Preferred Criteria Completed some college coursework and are familiar with health insurance requirements and clinical coding Knowledge of health insurance benefits/requirements
Knowledge of Coding:
ICD 9, CPT-4
