- Basic scanning skills with a good understanding ofsonographic physics and techniques
- Clinical experience in ahospital or acute care setting, with some exposure to general,vascular, and OB-GYN sonography
Description:
The unit has 4ultrasound rooms. There are 14 staff members on the team. Duringday shift, 4 sonographers are staffed, plus a supervisor. Duringthe second shift, 1 sonographer is staffed after 7:30 PM. Duringthe night shift, 1 sonographer is staffed. Patient ratios are 8-10in an 8-hour shift. Equipment includes Siemens Acuson S200 and GELogiq E10. The EMR used is Allscripts, and PACS is InteleRad.
Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric. Candidateswith additional certifications such as RVT, OB-GYN, and AB will beprioritized. Experience in the OR and with ultrasound procedures ispreferred. Previous typical procedures include thoracentesis,paracentesis, fine-needle aspirations, and soft tissue biopsies.
The ideal candidate is hard working, motivated, and a fast learner.
Candidates should be considerate towards others and providecompassionate patient care. They should be able to work both in ateam and independently and be willing to teach. Engagement ingossip should be avoided. Effective communication with managementis necessary, and adherence to department policies is expected.
Attendance and PTO request policies must be followed, and all examprotocols need to be adhered to. Weekends are covered by weekendposition staff, and there is no on-call duty as a call tree isimplemented for staffing needs.
