The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for wines and spirits, along with the ability to enhance the dining experience through expert wine pairings and recommendations. This role requires a strong background in the food industry, particularly within fine dining restaurants, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. Duties Curate and manage an extensive wine list that complements the restaurant’s menu. Provide expert wine recommendations to guests based on their meal choices and preferences. Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and guests to enhance their understanding of wine. Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning to ensure optimal wine pairings with dishes. Maintain inventory of wines, including ordering, receiving, and organizing stock. Monitor wine storage conditions to ensure quality preservation. Assist in catering events by providing wine service and expertise as needed. Utilize Aloha POS system for processing orders and managing transactions efficiently. Skills Strong knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and tasting notes. Experience in fine dining environments with a focus on customer service excellence. Familiarity with meal preparation processes and catering operations. Proficiency in sales techniques related to food and beverage offerings. Ability to operate POS systems, including Aloha POS, cash registers, and other restaurant technology. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey wine knowledge to guests and staff. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing inventory and menu planning.
