Know Your Business:
Acquire a deepknowledge of key metrics and reporting for total club anddepartment performance Drive performance and profitability by usingreporting to identify trends and areas of opportunity Have theforesight to see a breakdown in process and correct it before itnegatively impacts club performance metrics Communicate a simplemessage to your team on the connection between consistentoperational performance and achieving club financial targets MajorTasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities Provides a highlevel of customer service to members and ensures fulfillment ofmember orders. Responds to member calls, answers member questionsand recommends meat items. Manages meat department operations andteam members. Holds department meetings to update team members onclub policies and procedures. Creates work schedules and recommendshiring, promotion and separation of team members in the department.
Responsible for compliance with safety, sanitation, merchandisingand food quality policies and regulations. Meets or exceeds allbudgeted sales and profit goals. Receives and inspects meatshipments. Conducts meat inventories and orders meat supplies asneeded. Maintains a full variety of meat products according topresentation guidelines and utilizes available product movement andvariety reporting and checklists. Ensures all products are freshand meet company quality standards. Maintains the proper rotationof meat products. Checks for out-of-date products daily and followsappropriate product salvage policies and procedures. Trains teammembers on standards of cutting, processing, weighing, wrapping,receiving and rotating meat products. Maintains all club policiesand procedures. Performs other duties as assigned, includingworking in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, fullattendance is an essential function of this job. QualificationsKnowledge as a Qualified journeymen meat cutter preferred Formalfood service vocational education preferred High school diploma,college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, deli, grocery,meat, and/or management experience is preferred. Demonstratedleadership capabilities, including managing/supervisingcross-functional teams, training team members, and driving andcommunicating results. Strong interpersonal skills, organizationalskills and an attention to detail required. Open shift availabilityrequired. At least 18 years of age. Environmental Job ConditionsWorking in refrigerated and damp conditions (30-40 degrees)Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. Regularlifting of containers up to 80 lbs. with assistance. Ability tooperate safely power equipment and sharp knives. Frequent exposureto cleaning agents. Long periods of standing with frequent reachingand bending. In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements,the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensationrange for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefullyconsider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors whendetermining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factorsincluding but not limited to location, education, experience, andqualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from$55,250.00.
