Required Years of Experience 2 years Job Details Lilia adheres to the idea of “simplicity at it’s finest.” Our Italian-focused menus emphasize high-quality, simple ingredients. We are seeking an experienced Lead Pastry Cook to join our culinary team and help lead our well-established pastry program. This skilled culinary professional will be responsible for supervising and participating in the transformation of high-quality ingredients into delicious pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The Lead Pastry Cook will work closely with the Chef di Cuisine and Culinary Director leading daily pastry production while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This role ensures consistency, quality, and presentation of all desserts, baked goods, and specialty pastry items across our operations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day pastry production alongside pastry teams
- Supervise daily bake off and production of pastry offerings including cookies, cakes, quick breads, biscuits, yeasted breads, pizza dough, tiramisu, cannoli, brioches, gelato, and other Italian desserts
- Ensure availability, consistency, and quality across all pastry items, including gelato and sorbet
- Coordinate and execute pastry production for special event needs and holiday menus
- Manage additional production necessary for ongoing catering requirements
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation in accordance with established recipes and standards Qualifications
- 2-3+ years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen, hotel, resort, or high-volume catering environment preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program or formal culinary/pastry arts education strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Basic math and measuring skills
- Strong time management skills; previous supervisory or lead experience is a plus
- Self-starter who can contribute creatively to an already strong pastry program Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand for long periods
