Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary:
The Executive Chef leads all culinary operations for Kirkbrae, a welcoming, family-oriented private country club. This role is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering exceptional dining experiences that appeal to all ages — from casual family meals and kid-friendly options to refined adult dining and memorable club events. The Executive Chef inspires and manages the kitchen team, oversees food quality and consistency, and ensures that all culinary offerings reflect the club’s warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of food production for multiple outlets including casual dining, family dining, poolside service, special family events, banquets, and member functions.
- Design seasonal, diverse menus with appealing options for adults, children, and families, accommodating various tastes and dietary needs.
- Develop and maintain signature member events such as holiday brunches, themed dinners, and member-guest tournaments.
- Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff, promoting a supportive team culture that aligns with the club’s family-friendly values.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and timely service.
- Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in accordance with health codes and club policies.
- Manage food purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships; source fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Control food and labor costs; monitor kitchen budgets and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate closely with the Events and Front-of-House teams to plan and execute special functions, family celebrations, and club social events.
- Stay current with culinary trends and continuously innovate to enhance the dining experience for members of all ages.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a private club, resort, or family-focused hospitality setting.
- Culinary Arts degree or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven track record of creating menus that appeal to diverse age groups in addition to leading a culinary team that executes events of all capacities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills; ability to build a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Solid financial skills with experience managing budgets, cost controls, and inventory systems.
- ServSafe Manager certification or equivalent required.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support club dining and events.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
