Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring all food handling practices meet safety standards. Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to management. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation. Requirements Proven experience in food preparation or a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with various kitchen equipment and tools, particularly knives used for food preparation. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
