Position Details Location Hattiesburg 118 College Drive Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001 United States Division University Union and Hub Position Type Staff Employment Status Part Time Grant Funded No Salary Range 19.00 – 19.00 Pay Grade Generic Grade Posting Close Date June 30, 2025 Special Instructions This posting is for a temporary, part-time (19 hours/week) summer only appointment in the Union as an Esports Summer Graduate Worker. This short-term assignment runs from July 1, 2025 to August 10, 2025. Job Summary The Southern Miss Esports Summer Graduate Worker is responsible for supporting the daily operations, event production, team management, and community engagement efforts of the Southern Miss Esports program. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including assisting with event planning and execution, managing student staff, coordinating team schedules, maintaining inventory, and providing technical and administrative support. The Graduate Assistant will contribute to creating a vibrant and inclusive esports environment while ensuring smooth and efficient program operations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities + Esports Program Support + Event Planning & Execution + Team & Staff Management + Technical & Production Support + Community Engagement & Outreach + Inventory & Facility Management + Budget & Sponsorship + Marketing & Communication + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a graduate program at the University of Southern Mississippi. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Knowledge of and experience with supporting an Esports program to include event planning and execution, team & staff management, technical and production support, community engagement and outreach, inventory and facility management, budget and sponsorship management, and marketing and communications work. Preferred Qualifications At least one year of prior experience in Esports as a professional or as an undergraduate student worker.
