Position Overview As Head Maitre D’ , you will be the ambassador of our front‐of‐house, orchestrating seamless guest experiences from reservation through farewell. You’ll lead the host team, manage seating flow, and partner with service and culinary leadership to uphold Amazónico’s high service standards and drive guest satisfaction and revenue goals. Key Responsibilities Guest Relations & Service Excellence Greet and welcome guests with genuine warmth, ensuring first impressions reflect our pure hospitality Manage reservations, special requests, and VIP preferences to personalize each visit Oversee seating flow and waitlists to optimize table turns and minimize guest wait times Respond promptly to guest feedback or issues, collaborating with servers and management to resolve concerns Team Leadership & Training Recruit, train, and mentor the host/hostess team—modeling Authentic Leadership and Empathy Lead daily pre-service briefings, share reservation updates, and align on service priorities Conduct regular coaching sessions and performance reviews; recognize excellence and address development areas Develop and maintain host station SOPs, seating diagrams, and reservation protocols Operational Management Maintain the reservation system (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) with accurate availability and blackout configurations Coordinate with the floor manager to balance party sizes, special events, and private-dining bookings Monitor daily covers and revenue metrics; recommend staffing adjustments or promotional initiatives Ensure the host station and foyer maintain impeccable presentation, signage, and branding Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the bar, service, and culinary teams to synchronize timing for cocktail service, pre-fixe menus, and large parties Collaborate with Marketing on high-profile reservations (press, influencers) and special promotions Work with Events to integrate private-dining and group functions into the main‐floor seating plan
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
3-5 years in guest‐relations or supervisory front‐of‐house roles—ideally fine-dining or high-volume upscale restaurants
Technical Proficiency:
Mastery of reservation platforms, POS systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead a team, coach in real time, and inspire accountability
Guest Focus:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; comfort engaging high-profile guests
