Restaurant Hostess Il Mondo Vecchio Italian Restaurant 54 Main Street, Madison, NJ 07940 Overview 54 Main Grille and Bar is seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional guest experiences. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in setting the tone for their visit. Your warm welcome and efficient management of seating arrangements will ensure that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. Duties Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Manage the flow of guests by efficiently seating them at tables while considering their preferences. Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times to guests accurately. Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with inquiries and special requests. Utilize the Aloha POS system to manage reservations and track seating availability. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Handle phone calls professionally, taking reservations or answering questions about the menu and services. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and dining area. Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred. Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members. Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Aloha POS, is a plus. Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong phone etiquette for handling reservations and inquiries.
