This historic seven-story building has been transformed into a new, 110-room boutique hotel. The Press Hotel is Portland’s first independent lifestyle boutique property celebrating the local arts and paying homage to the historic Press Herald past.

Essential functions:

Take every opportunity to amaze the guests Smile, have eye contact and greet guests immediately upon entering the lobby in a friendly and welcoming manner Thoroughly and accurately register guests into the systems, verifying reservation, address, credit and other important information Promptly respond to and resolve guest complaints Answer telephone promptly and properly being polite, welcoming, professional and courteously Use the guests’ name and know incoming VIPs Handle messages, wake-up calls, mail, and faxes properly in accordance with company standards Actively solicit feedback from guests Promote “preferred” guest program and provide recognition and benefits to all current members Follow all applicable Property Standard Operating Procedures Be helpful and have complete knowledge of hotel rooms, function space, restaurant, other outlets, and services and franchise honors program Act responsibly with computer usage inline with company standards Protects guest privacy in adherence with company policy Communicate requests, notifications, repairs, and other information to intended departments effectively Complete all required trainings in a timely manner Exemplify safety and security standards Requirements High school or equivalent Availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays 2+ years of customer service experience preferably in a hotel setting and like role Have a passion for hospitality and learning
