Job Description
Hotel Front Desk Black Bear Inn 4 Godfrey Drive, Orono, ME 04473 The Black Bear Inn in Orono is seeking friendly, guest-oriented team members for our front desk! As the first point of contact for guests, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming and seamless experience. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services:
Greet and check in guests, process reservations, and handle check-outs efficiently. Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Reservation Management:
Manage bookings via phone, email, or online systems, ensuring accuracy in reservations and payments.
Administrative Tasks:
Process payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records of guest transactions and front desk activities.
Communication:
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest needs are met.
Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve guest issues or concerns, escalating to management when necessary.
Property Representation:
Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and services to enhance the guest experience.
Compliance:
Adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards, including handling confidential guest information securely.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or related field is a plus. Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or front desk roles preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude. Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Professional appearance and demeanor. Knowledge of local attractions and tourism is an advantage.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds.
