The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position involves performing various cleaning and sanitization tasks to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms, restrooms, and common areas within the hospital. Execute floor care duties including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Conduct routine inspections of cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly. Follow established procedures for infection control and waste disposal to promote a hygienic environment. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient operations within the environmental services department. Qualifications Previous experience in environmental services, custodial work, or commercial cleaning is preferred. Knowledge of hospital cleaning protocols and OSHA regulations is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
