Job Description:

Bring unique opportunities to the Town of Webb local youth ages 4 years to 9 years of age through a multi-week program. The instructor will focus on new activities that are hands-on learning experiences directly connected with nature and life skills. Some activities will be carried out through a multi-week session with the club meeting once a week for two hours. Examples of activities are Tree Identification / Survival Skills / Plant Identification / Gardening / Wood Work / Forging as well as but not limited to Orienteering. The Forest Club will welcome local youth between the ages of 4 and 9 years of age to register. The program’s goal is to encourage all participants to know there are multiple accomplishments to be had, lessons to be learned and skills set to be mastered. Ultimately learning there will always be a next level that you can reach.

Recreation Manager Instructor Duties:

• Plan a weekly lesson for the kids that is interactive learning through our surrounding nature
• Monitor peer interactions as well as communications to ensure a positive environment is had for all
• Assist program participants to step out of their comfort zone to learn a new skill.
• Encourage future practice of skill for future growth
• Set a good example
• Take weekly attendance
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols that are in place
• Communicate with the Recreation Manager to organize activities and supply needs
• Follow proper procedures for sign-in/out of children on a daily basis
• Establish a relationship with each child and know his or her present level of understanding; consider the needs of all the children and treat each child with respect and dignity
• Work toward positive parent/staff relationship
• Complete all paperwork clearly and concisely when necessary
• Be on time
• Use appropriate language at all times
• Be a role model and mentor
• Take attendance daily
• Wear appropriate attire
• Be committed to the entire length of club dates.
• Ability to teach, lead and participate in various activities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion. desire and ability to work with children ages 4 to 9
• Demonstrate responsibility and dependability
• Be aware of emergency phone numbers
• Provide and maintain a safe, fair, clean and fun environment
• Have first aid kit in immediate area at all sessions
• If there is an injury, tell the parent/guardian when the child is picked and notify the Director in writing

Qualifications:

Age:

Minimum Age of 18 First Aid and CPR Certified or willing to be certified Knowledgeable in nature skills Experience with survival skills such as but not limited to knot tying, tree identification / survival skills / plant identification / gardening / wood work / forging as well as but not limited to orienteering. Experience with teaching youth Ability to effectively communicate with youth Must be able to pass a background check

Pay Rate:
