Job Description

Bus Monitor Community Day Care Center Of Lawrence Inc 190 Hampshire Street, Lawrence, MA 01840 The role of the Bus Monitor is to ensure the safety of children in transit, to make their trips to and from day care as pleasant as possible, and to facilitate communication between parents and programs. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and reports to the Program Director. Responsibilities (included but not limited to): Ensure the care, safety, and well-being of children in the group; Ride with children each day to and from day care and/or school, making sure that whenever applicable, children are secure in car seats or seat belts; Maintain a written bus route, revising for changes, additions and/or deletions whenever necessary, with a current copy to be kept on file with the Program Director; Take responsibility for car seats: inventory, regular cleaning and maintenance; Ensure each child is accounted for and that there are emergency and release permission forms for each child on board; Report any problems with driver, equipment, children or parents to Program Director; Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the CDCC Confidentiality Policy; Ensure that children enter and leave bus in a safe manner and that children are released to approved adults; Report any sign of abuse or neglect to Program Director; Conduct bus evacuation drills at least twice per year; Participate in training as required by CDCC (CPR, First Aid, OSHA, etc); Provide a program inclusive to all children and families regardless of lifestyle and belief system; Participate in staff meetings, and on-going trainings; Complete all required certifications; and All other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Experience working with school-aged children; Ability to communicate in English/ Spanish effectively; Strong interpersonal skills; Must possess the qualifications required for their positions in accordance with EEC regulations; Completed CORI, SORI and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care; The Community Group participates in the E-Verify program to determine the immigration and work-eligibility status of prospective employees.
