Please click here to apply internally. This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Troubadour Golf & Field Club, set outside of Nashville Tennessee. Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Banquet Manager to join the Food and Beverage Service Department. The Banquet Manager will be an integral part of the Food and beverage operation and the opening and supervision of the new Clubhouse/Pool experiences as well as executing private events at various outdoor venues and private residences. The Banquet Manager will be working closely with the Restaurant manager and Director of Food and Beverage and will represent the Food and Beverage team with honor and professionalism. Key Responsibilities The Banquet Manager responsibilities will mainly include the sales, event planning and seamless communication of private event experiences for club members to all departments crucial to the success. Coordination of marketing efforts to members about the services available through the Banquet and event team Participation of member onboarding and orientations Proactively approaches members and books private events according to a financial monthly goal Working closely with Member Services, Events and other departments to co-produce Food and Beverage experiences and programming for members (i.e. birthday, anniversary parties, private dinners, experiences and special occasion celebrations) Responsibilities will include sourcing vendors and partners, creating operating manuals, marketing collateral, creating spreadsheets for inventory and ordering, building and maintaining exceptional relationships with strategic partners, invoice management and planning of complex timelines and managing staff in the F&B outlets at times. Other responsibilities are but not be limited to: Inventory, product ordering, training and managing the staff, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and control possible Able to manage the business adhering to profitable labor cost, beverage cost, and operating costs and kept in line with budgets Able to work independently and engage with members on all occasions, particular club wide tournaments and celebrations Manage event timelines, staffing, and service standards. Overseeing the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including tables, decorations, and equipment, and ensuring the smooth execution of food and beverage service. Collaborate with Events, Culinary, and F&B teams to ensure all event details are executed flawlessly. Clearly communicates to members pricing structure and oversees accurate billing procedures to avoid rework and rebates Sends weekly recaps to keep supervisors updated on progress and accomplishments Shares member feedback with the team at large to continuously improve Skills and Experience Minimum of 2-4 years in the industry with a focus on Banquet operation Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a high-end club, hotel or resort, experience with Forbes standards is preferred but not required At least one (1) year experience in a leadership service role or similar capacity role with exposure in food and beverage standards. Knowledgeable of HACCP & local food safety standards. Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others and maintain accountability of staff. Opening experience preferred but not required TEI, Seven Rooms and Triple Seat software knowledge preferred but not required Track record of excellence and success Effective management of budgets and P&L to achieve overall profitability Polished verbal and written communication, fluent in English Excellent training skills, positively interacts with all team members and club members Detail orientation and able to maintain a surgical clean work environment Polished and professional appearance Recruitment of staff, design effective schedules and coach performance Plugged into industry trends and inventive to set new trends Customer service oriented with unquestioned hospitality skills Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays as necessary Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of the position which will include working indoors and outside Additional Requirements 4-year college degree preferred, but combination of education and relevant position training and experience will be considered. Four (4) or more years’ experience in a luxury full service environment is preferred. Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
